FAQs
What do I have to do to complete the Supplementary Studies Module (SuStMo)?
To complete the SuStMo, you must earn 9 CP and complete at least one graded assignment. Suitable courses for the SuStMo include language courses, courses offered in the Supplementary Studies module, additional academic courses from the range of courses offered by Faculty 10 and beyond, practical courses (e.g. theatre workshops), career-relevant key qualifications, internships, and stays abroad. Further information can be found in the module description.
What do I need to be aware of when studying SuStMo?
a) CP and grades
In some courses, the lecturers will independently pass on your grade to the SuStMo coordinator. In this case, all you have to do is successfully complete the course and document the achievement for your own records. In other courses (e.g., language courses), you will receive certificates of achievement/participation, or in other cases you need to have your grade certified using the certificate of achievement form. You can find this form here.
Certificates of achievement/participation that are not issued for language courses must be sealed through an official stamp. For department 10 courses, you receive the stamp/seal from the staff at the study centre (Studienzentrum FB 10). Courses from other faculties must be sealed by the staff from those faculties respectively. Please make sure to receive the stamp in good time!
Please clarify with your respective lecturer before the end of the course whether they will pass on your grade to the SuStuMo coordinator or whether they will issue you a certificate of achievement.
b) Documentation
You must keep a record of which courses you have completed. Please use the table provided in the form you can download at the bottom of this page and fill it in completely for each completed course.
You can also use this table to keep an overview of SuStMo.
Collect all certificates of achievement that you want to use for SuStMo. Only send them to the SuStMo coordinator once you have completed the module – not earlier.
c) Registration with PABO
Only register for SuStMo on PABO in the semester in which you complete the whole module – not earlier! You have only completed SuStMo when you have acquired 9 CP, including at least one graded assignment. Your achievements (CPs and grade) cannot be forwarded to the central examination office before you complete all CPs and assignments and register with PABO.
Once you have completed all your coursework and registered for SuStMo on PABO (and only then!), please submit the following documents by email to the SuStMo coordinator:
- record of course completed (the form mentioned above)
- your certificates of achievement/participation (scans suffice).
d) Submission deadline for all paperwork is May 10th if you registered with PABO in the previous winter term or November 10th if you registered with PABO in the previous summer term
