Master Students Support Days 2019

The faculty is happy to announce that it will offer a new format to help new MA students find their feet in the program at our university: the Master Students Support Days.

These will take place on Wednesday, December 4th and Friday, December 13th, 2019. The full program can be found below.

After the event all students and faculty are invited to stay on for socializing with snacks and drinks.

Information about German-language classes – 2019

Dear students,

For those of you who are interested in taking German-language courses to receive credits for the Supplementary Studies module, we are happy to let you know that you can take up to two classes (4 SWS) free of charge with the university’s Foreign Language Centre (FZHB). Further information ca be found here: https://www.fremdsprachenzentrum-bremen.de/1509.0.html?&L=1

Please contact hochschulkooperation-bremen@goethe.de in order to register for a course and get your entrance level of German assessed. Should problems arise, pls contact Fredericke Jähne (jaene@uni-bremen.de) at the Foreign Language Centre (FZHB). In case that courses are full, you will be put on a waiting list or will have to do the class the following semester.

Welcome sessions and introduction to the study programme

All students enrolled for the upcoming winter term are cordially invited to attend several welcome and information sessions (see also https://www.uni-bremen.de/uni-start-portal/owoche/ext/week/events/301 for a summary):

1) Information sessions organised by the StugA (the student representatives)

“We save you from the initial overload with a casual presentation of the course of studies from the 1st to the 4th semester of the Master’s degree. Together we will create an exemplary timetable for the first semester and answer your questions. Master students are welcome!”

–> Monday, October 7th, 2019, 10-12:00, GW2 building, room B 3.200 <–

After this session the StugA invites you for a joint lunch in the student refectory (“Mensa”) (for Bachelor and Master, self paid) where you can get to know each other and the StugA members better. They will also explain to you how to apply for a “Mensacard” and what you can use it for. Bring some change and your student ID! If you want to apply for a “Mensacard”, you will need a deposit of 5€ and some extra money to charge your card. Meet at 11:45 am. in the GW2 building, room B.2880 to go to the Mensa.

On Thursday, October 10th, 2019 (4-6 pm), and Friday, October 11th (9am – 12), the StugA will also offer Q&A sessions where you can ask all sorts of questions about your study program. Come to the StugA room in the GW2 building, B 3.200.

2) Information sessions organised by the program directors and teaching staff
