Future (in) academics organised by MA students

Dear fellow E-SC-students,

we would like to draw your attention to a conference we are organising to take place on the 1st of December 2021 (on Zoom from 10 am to 4 pm).
Did you ever think about pursuing a career in academia but you are not sure how to pursue that path? Neither are we, which is why we contacted some of our lecturers from the English-Speaking Cultures program and asked them to tell us something about their individual career paths and how they became what they are today. We will meet online on Zoom on the 1st of December and hear the different stories about how to achieve certain titles, what difficulties might come with that and how their individual days at work look like.

If you are interested in hearing more about an academic career path, not only in Bremen or Germany, but also in the US or UK, for instance, feel free to join us. We would appreciate it if you could briefly inform us about your participation using the following mail address: futureinacademics@gmail.com

If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to contact us!

Yours,
Merle Meyer, Niklas Bohlen, Judith Hanke

Message from the program directors: Updated information on obtaining credit points for the AWE modules

Dear students,

we understand that due to the current circumstances and restrictions caused by the pandemic some of you may experience difficulties in finding and gaining access to scholarly activities to collect credit points (CPs) for the modules in Academic Work Experience. In a new document we will detail again the regulations and provide information on further opportunities to gain credit points.

Best wishes

Marcus Callies and Kerstin Knopf
