What Can You Expect From the Preparatory Workshops?

Building the Foundation for Successful Projects

The Project Preparation Week marks the beginning of the PRAXIS Summer Camp and serves as a soft kick-off before the official start with our practice partners.

Bringing together students from different disciplines, study levels, and cultural backgrounds, the week creates the foundation for successful collaboration in the upcoming three-week project phase. The focus is not only on developing relevant project skills, but also on building a strong community among all participants.

Through interactive workshops, students will learn how to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams, structure complex challenges, apply practical methods, and communicate their ideas professionally. The workshops are closely connected to the real project tasks and allow teams to directly apply the methods to their own company challenge.

The week follows a clear learning journey:

1. Build the Team
Students get to know their teammates, understand different perspectives and working styles, and establish the foundation for effective collaboration.

2. Understand the Challenge
Teams learn how to analyse and structure complex real-world problems, identify relevant stakeholders, and develop a clear approach for solving their project challenge.

3. Work Professionally on Projects
Students apply project management methods, define roles and milestones, and establish ways of working that support successful project execution.

4. Communicate with Impact
Teams prepare for their first interaction with the practice partners by developing and rehearsing a professional project kick-off presentation.

Beyond the project work itself, the Project Preparation Week is an opportunity to connect with the entire PRAXIS Summer Camp community. Students will meet participants from all projects, exchange ideas, and start building an international network that will continue throughout and beyond the Summer Camp.

The goal: to transform a group of individual students into a connected, confident, and project-ready community prepared to tackle real-world challenges together.

Project Preparation Week – Getting Ready for Real-World Challenges

The Project Preparation Week marks the beginning of the PRAXIS Summer Camp 2026 and serves as a soft kick-off before students start working with their practice partners.

During this week, students from different disciplines, study levels, and cultural backgrounds come together to build strong project teams and develop the key skills needed for successful collaboration. Through interactive workshops, they learn how to structure complex challenges, apply practical methods, organize their project work, and communicate their ideas effectively.

The workshops are directly connected to their project challenges, allowing teams to apply what they learn immediately. At the same time, the week creates an opportunity to connect with all Summer Camp participants and build an international network beyond individual projects.

The goal: to create a connected, confident, and project-ready community prepared to tackle real-world challenges together.

Tuesday

Building the Team: Collaboration & Communication

The first day of the Project Preparation Week focuses on bringing students together and creating the foundation for successful teamwork. Through interactive team challenges and exercises, students get to know each other, discover different strengths and working styles, and develop a shared understanding of effective collaboration.

The workshops introduce key principles of team dynamics, communication, and presentation skills – helping students build the confidence and trust needed to work in interdisciplinary and international teams throughout the PRAXIS Summer Camp.

Wednesday

Understanding the Challenge: From Problem to Solution

The second day focuses on the core of every successful project: understanding the challenge before developing solutions.

Students learn how to structure complex real-world problems, identify key stakeholders, and apply problem-framing and design thinking approaches. They will directly transfer these methods to their own project challenges and develop a first structured understanding of the problem they aim to solve.

In the afternoon, students learn how to organize their project work effectively by applying project management and agile working methods. They define roles, responsibilities, milestones, and ways of working for the upcoming project phase.

Thursday

Communicating Ideas: Preparing for the Project Kick-off

The final preparation day focuses on turning ideas and initial project understanding into a convincing presentation.

Students refine their project approach, structure their messages, and practice how to communicate their understanding of the challenge and planned approach professionally to their practice partners.

Through presentation training and rehearsal, teams prepare for the official kick-off and gain confidence in presenting their project vision.

Wednesday

Researching the Challenge: Building Evidence-Based Solutions

After the first exchange with their practice partners, students deepen their project approach by learning how to collect and analyse relevant information.

In parallel sessions, teams explore quantitative and qualitative research methods and select suitable approaches for their specific project challenge. They develop first research plans, interview guides, or questionnaires to gather meaningful insights and create evidence-based recommendations.
