Reflection on my position in the field

I entered the field as an outsider in two respects: neither am I Australian nor do I have any direct connection to indigeneity. Yet, as a student of the two classes examined, I was also a part of the field to the same extent as any other student. Thus, I quickly became very familiar with it. This might mean that some details of the classroom interaction might not have been noticeable for me anymore by the time I actively started my research.
