My project „this sounds like home“ is about sounds, common sounds from daily life, evoking emotions and memories. I was fascinated, experiencing and reflecting it by myself, how only hearing something makes you remembering specific situations, places, people and feelings from the past.
Inspired by Murray Schafer and his soundscapes, Steven Felds acoustemology, Taina Kinnunen and Marjo Kolehmainen and their methodology of „touch biographies“, my own experiences and sensing and other ones experiences I asked about, I wanted to dig deeper and explored the connection between hearing and sensing noises, feeling something and memories. Therefore I set the focus on the „feeling of home“, because it is such an unique and sensitive experience in every single ones biography.
