MoleNet is an open source wireless sensor network platform especially for environmental applications.

MoleNet utilizes a variety of wireless communication technologies to optimize performance across different environments. LoRa (Long Range) technology plays a crucial role in enabling long-distance communication between sensor nodes and base stations, making it ideal for vast and remote agricultural areas. For high bandwidth data transmission, MoleNet incorporates WiFi, suitable for localized data collection and processing. Additionally, Bluetooth and BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) are employed for energy-efficient, close-range communication, allowing for flexible network configurations and easy integration with mobile devices. This multi-technology approach ensures that MoleNet can be adapted to meet the specific demands of various monitoring scenarios, balancing the trade-offs between range, power consumption, and data throughput.
