The Ethnographic Film Festival of the Institute for Ethnology and Cultural Studies at the University of Bremen will take place again in January 2026. From January 20 to January 22, we would like to invite you to enjoy evenings together with exciting cultural studies films from around the world. After each film, you will have the opportunity to ask the filmmakers questions and discuss the films together.

The films were selected jointly by staff and students of the institute in a seminar. We have put together a diverse program with national and international productions, a wide variety of topics, and innovative approaches.

On Tuesday, January 20, we will start at the University of Bremen with six student films by filmmakers from different universities.

Wednesday evening will also take place at the University of Bremen, and on this day we will focus on the topic of “Ecologies and Futures.”

We will conclude together on January 22 at the City46 cinema. Two cinema-worthy films await us on the big screen.
