Getting to Bremen / venue of the summer school
Bremen is located in the northwest of Germany and is served by an international airport. There are plenty of regular direct train connections to and from other large cities in the region (e.g. Hamburg, Hannover). University and airport are connected by tram line 6 [download map] which also stops at the conference venue (stop called “Universität Zentralbereich”). Classes will take place on the university campus in the GW2 (humanities building, computer lab) and SFG buildings. [interactive campus map]
Getting around in the city
Probably the most efficient way to get around in the city is to make use of public transport, esp. buses and trams. The local transport company (BSAG) offers a 7-day ticket for the price of 22,80 Euros. You can buy the ticket at two major outlets: at the central train station, and at one of the major tram stations close to the city center (“Domsheide“).
