GW2
The GW2 (in German short for humanities 2) is the most important building for our faculty. Located directly on the boulevard and very big, it is easy to find and only hard to oversee. Most of the offices of our lecturers, study rooms and secretaries are located here and most of our seminars take place here as well. The architecture of the GW2 confused many students before, and you wouldn’t be the first one to get lost. With its 4 floors and two blocks, it can be very hard to find the right room. If you come to Uni by car, the GW2 offers an underground car park to keep your car dry and secure.
The GW2 is also home to the Cafeteria. It offers Drinks, sweets, baked goods, bowls and pizza. The offers change from day to day and can be foun here.
For students or lecturers with kids the cafeteria has a kids lounge, where kids can play and relax. A floor above the cafeteria is a Coffee-Bar, where you can enjoy fresh tee and coffee. The many seating possibilities in and around the cafeteria are popular meetings spots to eat, work or just chat.
You are searching for a quiet place to study or do group work? You may consider one of the three study rooms (Lernräume) in the GW2! You can book the so called study islands, which supply a big table for group work, a big screen with which you can connect to all your devices and a whiteboard. The rooms are free to use, but to make sure to get a spot you should book a table in advance. You can book 2 hours at a time via Stud.IP here. If all rooms are booked, more study rooms are located over the campus. But in favour of all of us: Please make sure to always leave the places clean!
On the second floor of the GW2 in room B2690, you can find the Medienstelle (the room for media supply). Here you can borrow projectors, cameras or adapters or ask for help if you have technical problems in the study theatres. If you, for example, need a projector for a presentation, its best to book one in advance. Everything you need to know about the “Medienstelle” you can find here.
Did you know, that..
The GW2 is home to our uni-magazine. The ScheinWerfer (German for spotlight) publishes a new edition once or twice a semester. On their website you will find new reports and articles about the university, the city of Bremen or other relevant topics more frequently.
You have absolutely no idea which seminars to take? You find it hard to find your way around the uni or the city of Bremen in general? You want to meet new people? Then it’s time to visit the “Stugen-Eck”! You will find each StugA (the Student-Committee) here, which are there to help you with any questions or worries regarding you studies. The StugAs are also organizing parties and events which you can of course attend if you want. If you’d like to, you are free to get involved yourself. Just talk to the members of the STugA you would like to join. Contact details can be foundr here.
