Central Area

The Central area is the main spot to arrive at the university. Most students arrive here as the main car park, most of the bike stands and the main bus stop are located here.

Did you know, that..

You can do most of the shopping for your studies on the campus? On the way between the glashall and the GW2 is a stationary shop. They offer everything from note books, over pens and folders!

The GW3 is a small woodshed, right next to the bus station of the central area. It was built by a few students in 2003, aiming to build a place free from schedules, exam stress, grades and the pressure to perform. The GW3 is rather a symbol than an actual building. Still it is impossible to study at the University of Bremen and not seeing it at least once, so now you know what it stands for.

The multipurpose hall (Mehrzweckhochhaus, short MZH) is also located in the central area. It has eight floors, and is therefore quite high and hard to miss when being on the campus. Even though it’s rooms are mostly used by faculty 3 (math and informatics), some of the seminars of the faculty 10 take place there as well.

Across the MZH there is the “Uniwiese”, which is like a little park on the campus. Especially in summer it is a popular place for students to relax, picnic or play different sports. At night it is sometimes used to meet up, listen to music and relax.

Are you interested in sports? Then you should definitely take a look at the Society for Uni Sports (Verein für Hochschulsport). Next to common sports such as football, tennis or volleyball they also offer more unusual sports such as unicycle hockey, hula dance or Aiki-Ken. Just take a look!!

Sports classes are offered at our University

On the right next to the MZH you will find a small green space, from where on you will get to the secretary for students (Sekreteriat für Studierende) and the international centre. You can ask all the wuestions you have regarding your study field here. They also offer a student advisory service.
