Administration Building
An important part of the Administration Building is the secretary for students (Sekreteriat für Studierende/ SfS). With all matters concerning formalities this is the place to go, for example your student ticket, matriculation or changing subjects. It’s also the place where you can find the central student advisory service. The SfS is not responsible for matters regarding grades and exams, for that you need to contact the central examination office on the boulevard (ZPA).
For anyone coming to the University of Bremen from abroad or studying here and going abroad, the international centre (“Interntionales Zentrum”). You will find the advisory and service office of the International Office here. For questions regarding the Erasmus exchange program you can contact Dr. Henrike Evers directly.
The administration building is not the easiest to find on the campus. If you’re coming by bus or tram , you need to walk past the big red building, called the MZH. Behind that, you will find the administration building.
Did you know, that..
You can find a service point of the citizen office (BSU) on the campus at the central area? Students and employees of the university can visit the office without an appointment. This is very helpful, for example if you need to get a new ID, a criminal record certificate, or register your new place of residence. You can also request the so called welcome money (Begrüßungsgeld) from the city of Bremen, which you get if you register it your new place of residence and you haven’t lived here before.
Another building which might be relevant for you is the seminar and research building (in German Seminar- und Forschungsverfügungsgebäude, short SFG). The big terracotta coloured building is not only used for seminars, it is also home so several research centres as well as the centre for networks (in German “Zentrum für Netze”, short ZFN) and the international office. The centre for networks is responsible for problems regarding your Stud-IP account and your webmail account, the university WIFI or software licenses. The international office is mostly helping international students and is building alliances with international universities and facilities.
