The Spanish and Italian students visited Germany! And exactly Bremerhaven, the harbor city and Bremen, the city of the town musicians! The German student enterprise „KLA tours“ arranged a whole week of activities for the visiting students.
The week started with a school visit, where the students and teachers could see the way of working in the KLA (Kaufmännische Lehranstalten Bremerhaven). The students got to exchange experiences with the local ones in the school as well as the teachers did with their peers. The German students and teachers leaded a visit in small groups though the school, where they got to show how the dual system in Germany works. Monday finished with a guided tour through Cuxhaven.
The rest of the week was followed by visits to the harbor and its operation, the history museum, Klimahaus museum and German Emigration Center. Besides, a lot of activities where arranged by the host students. They visited the companies where the students work (dual system), and a German typical hiking tour and a city rally in Bremen were organized too.
The students also worked together in the school, where they worked and learned about the history of Bremehaven. More work was organized for the last exchange day too, where the students exchanged ways of working in their student enterprises and recorded videos to be included in the peer-to-peer guideline. A final feedback was leaded by the project coordinator, where all participants reflected about the week.
Great week, great students, great teachers, and awesome learning experience where the participants not only took some memories with them, but a professional experience on managing a project first hand and facing real problems arising from such frameworks. This is a big step on the transition from school to work!
