The Linguistics Student Symposium at the University of Bremen offers students the opportunity to present their research in applied linguistics and have discussions with peers and experts in the field.
Participants from the University of Bremen and from the University of South Florida will present their research projects and research proposals related to sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, digital discourse, and pragmatics.
The symposium will be held online via Zoom on January 29, 2022 and is free of charge.
The symposium is featuring a discussion with Dr. Camilla Vásquez from the University of South Florida.

General Information for Participants
- Please turn on your video, especially when talking, unless your internet connection is too weak.
- Only the person who is talking should have the microphone on.
- To ask questions or to make comments, you can raise your hand and unmute your microphone or you can write in the chat.
- There will be one moderator in each room who can help with technical questions and who will keep an eye on the time.
- Participants can move freely between main room and breakout rooms.
- During the break, we will meet via wonder.me, where you can form small groups. Once you have joined the wonder.me room, you can add your picture bubble to another picture bubble, which will start a circle and open the conversation. You can move between circles. The wonder.me room is open during the entire symposium.
