{"id":214,"date":"2023-06-05T16:10:10","date_gmt":"2023-06-05T14:10:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/bscel\/?page_id=214"},"modified":"2025-05-27T12:59:34","modified_gmt":"2025-05-27T10:59:34","slug":"call-for-abstracts","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/bscel\/call-for-abstracts\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Abstracts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We invite contributions from a range of research topics related to the way language is used in the English-speaking world, including but not limited to the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Language and gender<\/li>\n<li>Multilingualism<\/li>\n<li>Second language acquisition<\/li>\n<li>World Englishes<\/li>\n<li>Lexical creativity<\/li>\n<li>Ecolinguistics<\/li>\n<li>Computer-mediated communication<\/li>\n<li>Multimodality<\/li>\n<li>Language and education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Presenters can either opt for an oral presentation (max. 15 minutes plus 5 minutes of questions and answers) or a poster presentation (A1 or A0 format).<\/p>\n<h4><b>Submission Guidelines<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>We ask all students to submit an abstract of their research project (250-400 words), the title of the presentation and the presenters\u2019 contact information <b>electronically<\/b> by <b>Sunday, June 22th, 2025<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>We handle abstract submissions and participant registration through Stud.IP.<\/p>\n<p>Please sign into the Study group &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/elearning.uni-bremen.de\/dispatch.php\/course\/studygroup\/details\/2e544e7bcfa3b3ee29d1b6e69d4226c5?again=yes\">5th Bremen Student Conference in English Linguistics (BSCEL5)<\/a>&#8221; to register as a participant.
