Woltmershausen
Woltmershausen is a part of Bremen, which is only accessible via one street. It is located right on the edge of Bremen between two harbors. There is only one main street going through the place and if you reach the end of the street, there is the river Weser again. That makes Woltmershausen very special, but also very unattractive for people to move to. Nevertheless about 14.500 people live here. There are two churches, some primary schools and kindergartens as well. Many inhabitants of Woltmershausen work in the industries and this is why there are many small houses, which might seem to be unexciting. Woltmershausen is mainly known for its history, because the harbor was once a flourishing business in this area and many workers lived here. The great times of the flourishing harbor are long gone, as well as the connection to the city centre. It takes about 20 minutes by bus, to get to the city centre.
Although Woltmershausen just seems to be a quieter place of Bremen, it is a bit like a suburban village right in front of the doors of a greater city.
