Apartments on the campus of the University of Bremen

Boxy designed houses with built in apartments for either one person or many persons to live in – These are the students residences next to the campus of the University of Bremen.
What seem to be very impersonal houses, while walking around the residences, are actually coming to life, when yearly happenings such as street parties and other events take place.

It is easy for some students to find an apartment here, if they want to live right next to the University, but whether a student gets an apartment depends on money and also on the ability to wait for an apartment offer. Not all of the apartments are affordable for most of the students. Actually, the students residences and other apartments – not inhabited by students – are merged together, so that it is not obvious that students live in boxy apartments next to none-students. This seems sometimes to be an ironic opposition of the students, who do not have much money available and the wealthier citizens, who live in designer apartments.
The apartments are well connected to the University and it takes about 15 minutes to get to the city centre.
