{"id":179,"date":"2015-11-19T12:57:01","date_gmt":"2015-11-19T01:57:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/?p=179"},"modified":"2016-07-26T20:41:02","modified_gmt":"2016-07-26T10:41:02","slug":"class-2-tutorial-03092015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2015\/11\/19\/class-2-tutorial-03092015\/","title":{"rendered":"Class 2: Tutorial (03\/09\/2015)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This description is derived from notes taken during class and my memories of the session.<\/p>\n<p><em>After this week&#8217;s Talking Circle presentations, L3\u00a0<span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Positive learning environment\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/positive-learning-environment\/\" target=\"_blank\">praises<\/a><\/span> one of the students for creating slides which were <span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Audiovisual learning\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/audiovisual-learning\/\" target=\"_blank\">visually strong<\/a><\/span>. That was very good for visual learners, he says. Consequently, a student asks for a visual representation of the UN bodies so that the connections between them become clearer.\u00a0<span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Audiovisual learning\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/audiovisual-learning\/\" target=\"_blank\">L3 tries to draw a diagram<\/a><\/span> on the board but immediately admits that this will probably not be very helpful as the UN&#8217;s structure is simply too complex.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Some more questions about NGOs and the UN are asked. As L3 refers to a certain reference in his answer, he also talks about the <span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"People and their background\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/people-and-their-background\/\" target=\"_blank\">author&#8217;s background<\/a><\/span>. Afterwards he picks up the\u00a0<span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Reflection\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/reflection\/\" target=\"_blank\">reflection questions<\/a><\/span> from the lecture and asks us to <span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Sharing knowledge\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/sharing-knowledge\/\" target=\"_blank\">discuss them in groups<\/a><\/span>. Although discussions are lively across the room, no one wants to share his or her opinion with the whole class afterwards.
