He then gives some information about the Stolen Generations and <span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Peers\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/peers\/\" target=\"_blank\">apologises for having forgotten a name<\/a><\/span>. Afterwards he briefly shows a\u00a0<span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Audiovisual learning\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/audiovisual-learning\/\" target=\"_blank\">satirical comic<\/a><\/span> and asks us a <span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Reflection\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/reflection\/\" target=\"_blank\">reflection question<\/a><\/span>. However, he does not expect an answer to this question right away and tells us to think about it for a while. As he goes on, he notices a\u00a0<span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Peers\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/peers\/\" target=\"_blank\">number of typing errors<\/a><\/span> on the slides and points them out to us.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>For some reason it is impossible to open the classroom doors from the outside today. As a number of students are late today, they keep knocking. Every time L3 opens the door and <span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Relationship\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/relationship\/\" target=\"_blank\">welcomes them with a nice word<\/a><\/span>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>The next part of the lecture treats a\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Examples\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/case-examples\/\" target=\"_blank\">specific case<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>in which the Commonwealth was challenged for removing a child from its parents. L3 begins this topic by giving extensive<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"People and their background\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/people-and-their-background\/\" target=\"_blank\">background knowledge about the removed person<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span>. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>While talking about claims and evidence, he catches himself frequently saying &#8220;but&#8221; and explains that he\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Non-judgemental attitude\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/non-judgmental-attitude\/\" target=\"_blank\">does not want to judge anything as right or wrong<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>but that the word &#8220;but&#8221; will come up very often. He also says that he\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Opinions\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/opinions\/\" target=\"_blank\">loves lawyers but that it can be very frustrating<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>if they are on the opposition&#8217;s side. He then mentions a few films about the Stolen Generations<\/strong> <\/span><span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Encouragement of further learning\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/encouragement-of-further-learning\/\" target=\"_blank\">we can watch to find out more<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>and\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Storytelling\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/storytelling\/\" target=\"_blank\">talks about a friend<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>who helps people to reconnect with their families.<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>At the end of the lecture, L3\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Non-judgemental attitude\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/non-judgmental-attitude\/\" target=\"_blank\">apologises for painting such a dark picture<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>of history but adds that it is\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Connection to students\u00b4 world\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/connection-to-students-world\/\" target=\"_blank\">very important to understand what happened so that we can move on<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>from there. He also repeats that he is always trying to<\/strong><\/span> <span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Non-judgemental attitude\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/non-judgmental-attitude\/\" target=\"_blank\">avoid any judgement<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span>. <\/em>{Click <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/analysis\/establishing-a-relationship-between-students-and-lecturers-or-tutors\/creating-a-positive-learning-environment\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> for analysis}<em> After he notices that it is still very early, he apologises for having raced through the lecture and starts a\u00a0<span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Relationship\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/relationship\/\" target=\"_blank\">relaxed chat<\/a><\/span> with the class. He tries to <span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Relationship\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/relationship\/\" target=\"_blank\">learn names and remember what subject the students are studying<\/a><\/span>. Then he goes back to the topic of the lecture, telling the class that\u00a0<span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Storytelling\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/storytelling\/\" target=\"_blank\">he can still remember how he was sitting<\/a><\/span> in front of the TV when an important case about the Stolen Generations was decided. There were also many people in the University&#8217;s bar watching the decision, he says.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Then he picks up the topic of evidence again and finishes by underlining that\u00a0<span class=\"tooltips \" style=\"\" title=\"Non-judgemental attitude\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.uni-bremen.de\/aboriginalstudiesclasses\/2016\/07\/26\/non-judgmental-attitude\/\" target=\"_blank\">no one should feel good or bad<\/a><\/span> about what happened.
